Brent William Draper was born on November 17,1959 to Rulon Parnell Draper and Donna Widdison as the seventh of ten children. Brent grew up in Farmington Utah and graduated from Davis High school in 1978. He met the love of his life, DeAnn Page Draper, in Junior High and they started dating while working at Lagoon in High School. While in High School, Brent earned the Eagle Scout award. After graduation, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Indonesia. Brent and DeAnn were married on September 24, 1982 in the Ogden Utah Temple. In 1985, Brent graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural and Irrigation Engineering. He worked for 37 years as a Professional Engineer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Brent had a love for trains, woodworking, 3D printing, and especially for family history and temple work. Brent served in the Vernal Temple and Bountiful Temple as an ordinance worker for 20 years. Brent and DeAnn recently returned from serving a mission together in Indonesia and Malaysia teaching about family history.
Brent passed away early Sunday morning on January 21, 2024 following a battle with Merkel Cell Carcinoma. He is survived by his beloved wife DeAnn, daughter Liana (Ryan Lindeman), son Keith (Pamala Draper), son Scott, daughter Crystal (Zachary Tervort), and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Andrew, parents, and brothers Duane and David.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main Street, Kaysville. Friends may visit family from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24th and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday the 25th at the mortuary.
Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Roosevelt City Cemetery, 240 W HWY 40, Roosevelt, Utah.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Intermountain Healthcare in Layton and Murray, and Sandstone Skilled Nursing Facility. As well as the members of the Windridge Ward who have provided care and support.
