Brent Gordon

Brent Gordon, a devoted biologist and a cherished family man, passed away on October 3, 2024, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 66. Born on May 3, 1958, in Kiowa, Kansas, Brent's life was marked by both professional achievements and profound personal connections.

Brent was instrumental in pioneering research with paddlefish that led to the establishment of the Oklahoma grown Caviar program through the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife. His passion for aquatic life and dedication to conservation shaped his career as a biologist for the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Fisheries. Brent earned his master's degree from Oklahoma State University, where he laid the foundation for his impactful career.

 In addition to his professional accomplishments, Brent was known for his love of athletic activities. He enjoyed cycling and running, participating in numerous half marathons and cycling events. His passion for sports extended beyond his own pursuits; he dedicated many hours traveling to attend his grandkids' sporting events, where he was their most enthusiastic supporter.

 Brent's love for travel took him across all 48 contiguous states and Alaska, providing him with a wealth of experiences and cherished memories. He treasured the moments spent with family, especially with his children and grandchildren.

 He leaves behind his wife, Teresa White Gordon, and his three children: daughter Christa (Tino) Fraire, daughter Stacia (Theron) Cates, and son Casey (Gabi) White. Brent was a proud grandfather to Lyndee & Lanna Fraire, Trenton, Gabriel, and Blake Cates. He is also survived by his brother Neal (Linda) Gordon, twin sister Brenda (CT) Clark, and step-sister Joyce Hill, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss him dearly.

 Brent was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyce Briles Dumler & Robert Dumler, as well as his stepbrother Michael Dumler and his grandparents Cloye & Gracie Briles.

 A Celebration of Life will be held in Brent's honor on October 21, 2024, at Lanman Funeral Home in Cherokee, Oklahoma. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. 

 Brent Gordon's legacy lives on through the love he fostered in his family and the significant contributions he made to wildlife conservation. He will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the immense love he shared with those around him.
