Brent Mutziger

Brent Mutziger, 46, of Mitchell, SD, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell. Brent courageously fought esophageal cancer for 2 1/2 years. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, June 24, at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Sunday, June 23, from 5-7:00 PM at First Lutheran Church.
Brent Alan Mutziger was born February 20, 1978, to David and Phyllis (Larson) Mutziger in Mitchell, SD. During his elementary years, Brent attended Longfellow Elementary. He went to Mitchell High School, graduating in 1996. On May 24, 2003, Brent married Carrie Fite at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hermosa, SD. They were blessed with two children, Mataya and Riley.
Brent had an overwhelming passion for International Crawlers and Farmall tractors. He had an amazing collection of toy tractors and always had his eye out for a tractor or piece of farming equipment that he did not have. In his spare time, Brent could be found working on his many tractors, reading one of his numerous tractor magazines, and spending time with his family. Brent was a dedicated employee at Scott Supply for 26 years.
Brent is survived by his wife, Carrie; children, Mataya and Riley; parents, David and Phyllis Mutziger; brother, Brad (Kathey) Mutziger; father and mother-in-law, Everette and Darlene Fite; brother-in-law, Cory (Sherie) Fite; niece, Ashley (Drew) Glanzer; nephews, Tyler Mutziger, Tanner and Jaicee Fite, and Tegan Fite; aunts, Rose Larson, Deann Hauge, and Mary Mutziger; uncles, Milt Nelson, Ron Larson, Joe (Diane) Mutziger, and Paul (Marlene) Mutziger; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Marie; grandparents, Carl and Helen Larson, Francis and Dorothy Mutziger; uncles, Carl Larson, Larry Larson; Allen Thury and aunt, Sandy Nelson.
A memorial fund has been established for Brent's children's future education.
