Brent Sperry Obituary

Brent Sperry

June 25, 1937 ~ February 13, 2024

Draper, UT - Harrison Brent Sperry was born on June 25, 1937 as the youngest boy and 7th of 8 children of Dr. Sidney B Sperry and Eva Lila BraithwIte. Our loving Father peacefully passed through the veil of life from natural causes after a happy and adventurous life on February 13, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. He valiantly endured the effects of old age and didn't let immobility in his final years keep him from engaging all who visited with a warm smile, a walk down memory lane, and lots of laughs.

Special thanks to Steve and Julie Taylor who with Christlike love and kindness, cared for Brent in his final years.

Brent was raised in Provo, Utah. He graduated from Provo High School and attended Brigham Young University. He served a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Frankfurt, Germany. He later married his wife Judy and together raised a family of three beautiful children. He loved his children dearly.

Brent worked for many years in the sales industry as a regional representative for Burlington and later as a fast food franchisee and glass company owner. He later met and married his sweetheart Georgie Taylor. They shared 17 wonderful years together, before her passing on May 15, 2023.

Brent loved life and lived it to the fullest. His tennis and golf skills were not surpassed by many. He shared his talents with all who asked with countless lessons on the court, course, and in life. He had a way of making everyone feel like you were his best friend. . and you were. He never allowed a conversation to get dull but if it did, he would bring it back to life by his famous yodeling or a good story. Brent enjoyed traveling the world, especially if it included a round of golf at Pebble Beach or St Andrews with his golfing friends.

Brent was a people person, always with a hand out to those in need and a hand up to those in despair. His heart was full of love. We know that because of the great plan of salvation and through our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ, our Father is reunited with loved ones.

Brent is survived by his children: Michael Sperry, Jennifer Sperry Thornton (Terry), Susan Sperry, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren as well as 25 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren he called his own, and a brother; Richard Sperry (Margaret). He was preceded in death by his wife Georgie Taylor Sperry, as well as 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

A private celebration of his life and family luncheon will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 from 12-2 at his home ward building located at: 1450 East Raddon Drive Sandy, UT 84092.

Brent taught me how to golf. He would accompany me on my high school golf tournaments. He always brought drinks, treats and hugs for me. And he always wanted me to practice my putting after playing a full round! I will miss him.
