Brian Peter Bakanas

BAKANAS, Brian Peter, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2026. He was 62.

Born and raised in Mount Laurel NJ, Brian was a graduate of the Lenape High School class of 1981. He attended Camden County College and moved to West Virginia. In West Virginia, he pursued further education which began his career as a Land Surveyor. For 25 years, he was a licensed surveyor and most recently manager of the survey team for the Terradon Corporation.

Closest to Brian's heart were his life in West Virginia, his work which he thoroughly enjoyed, his pets and his family. His pets enjoyed home cooked meals and the best love and care from Brian. He is survived by those who loved him dearly; his family. Brian is the beloved husband of Carol Daub. Loving son of Eileen (nee Powell) and the late Raymond Peter Bakanas and favorite son-in-law of Florence Daub. Dearly loved brother of Anna Marie Bakanas Hicks, Michael Bakanas (Cindy), Diane Bakanas Katz (David), Stephen Bakanas (Lisa) and Paul Bakanas (Denise). Dear uncle of Elizabeth and Raymond Hicks, Phoebe Bakanas (Daniel Gutierrez), Theodore and Tyler Bakanas, Gregory Nicholas Katz (Nicky), C.J. Katz, Neal Bakanas (Nadia), Ian and Luke Bakanas, Benjamin and Joseph Bakanas and dear great uncle of Hugo & Jasper.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday February 21 from 10-10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Church, Willow Bend Road, Marlton where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am. In loving memory of Brian, donations may be made to your local animal shelter.
