Brian Bohnett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kalkaska Funeral & Cremation Services on Oct. 21, 2024.
Brian Anthony Bohnett, 52, passed away on October 19th, 2024, surrounded by family in his home in South Boardman, following a long battle with Huntington's Disease. He was born in Jackson, Michigan, on February 9th, 1972. Brian lived in Jackson throughout his school years, and following high school, he enlisted in the National Guard, serving two years. After his discharge, Brian began working in the oilfield industry, which brought him to Northern Michigan in 1995.
In 1996, Brian met his soulmate and the love of his life, Antoinette (Toni) Sieting of South Boardman. They were married in 1997. Their life together was an epic tale of adventures, especially in the great outdoors, where they shared many common interests. Together they traveled to Alaska and spent 18 months living in various locations and working different jobs in order to experience the local lifestyles and, above all else, the hunting and fishing opportunities offered there. From their home in South Boardman, Brian and Toni were able to continue their outdoor adventures, taking any opportunity to enjoy the beauty and the bounty that is Northern Michigan.
Brian is lovingly remembered by his friends and family as a man capable of teaching his wife how to hunt and fish; and react with good humor when she outhunted or outfished him. His quick wit and warmth made everyone feel at home, and his patient, loving nature made him a remarkable father and grandfather. Brian's simple message to all who were loved by him: "Find the joy every day in the simple things. Take that walk in the woods, spend time looking up at the night sky, and surround yourself with the people who feed your soul."
Brian is survived by his wife, Antoinette Bohnett; mother Robin (Chuck) Walling, of Jackson, Michigan; three biological children: Amber (Bohnett) Smith, Autumn Bohnett, and Andrew Bohnett; step-children: Jeremy Poli, Nick Poli, Leah (Harden) Scott; as well as ten grandchildren, both step and biological.
Memorial arrangements will be announced at a later date.
