Brian Edward Calhoun passed away January 15, 2026 at the age of 64. He was born October 8, 1961 to Sean Noel Calhoun and Violet Madelyn Haines Simpson.

He was known as a successful self-employed business owner who specialized in custom airbrush painting for motorcycles and cars. His artistic talent shone through not only in his paintings but also in his work as a flooring installer and home remodeler, always going the extra mile to ensure each project was a true reflection of care and dedication.

Brian’s journey included four impactful years serving the U.S. Navy aboard the illustrious aircraft carrier, the S.S. Enterprise, where he garnered experiences and friendships that would last a lifetime. His service time was a testament to his adventurous soul and unwavering commitment to his country.

A rugged spirit with an undeniable spark, Brian was oftentimes described as a straightforward guy, someone who brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was a larger-than-life presence, a fun companion whose laughter filled every room and whose stories captivated audiences at any gathering. Whether riding his beloved old school shovelhead Harley or strumming his guitar in bars across Florida and Tennessee, Brian embraced life with passionate enthusiasm. He was not just a musician; he was an artist in every sense of the word, with a talent for painting and a skill for carving marble that showed his love for beauty and creativity.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sean Noel Calhoun; his step-father, James Newton Simpson; daughter, Corey Taylor Detriville; grandson, Conner Detriville.

He is survived by his children, Caitlin Calhoun, Travis Calhoun and Brinn Calhoun; grandchildren, Shailynn Goins, Norah Brown, Ava Calhoun, Karma Calhoun, Kyah Robb, Harmony Palmer, Matthew Palmer, Jr. and Raymond Collins; mother, Violet Simpson; sister, Sharon Simpson.

Brian will be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit will forever ride on the winds, echoing in the melodies he played and the lives he touched.
