Brian David Copley

Brian David Copley, age 72, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Sunday, December 1st, 2024, at Northwest Nursing Center in Oklahoma City. He was born May 7th, 1952, in Oklahoma City, the son of Edgar Quinton Copley and Lois Mae Copley (née Hellbaum). Brian received his education at Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City. He married Gladys Phillips in 1973, with whom he had four children. Later, Brian married the love of his life, Lue Copley (nee Callaway) in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on December 19th, 1986. They were married for 38 years. Brian's family included two bonus sons, David Phillips from his first marriage and Scott Harrison from his second marriage. Brian had plenty of fatherly love and advice for all of his children. Survived by his wife, Lue; 5 siblings, (Sister) Sharon (Jim) Wilson, (Brothers) Kenneth (Linda) Copley, Irl (Julie) Copley, Doug (Vallie) Copley and Curtis (Tilly) Copley; 4 beloved children Jeff Copley and his children Deanna Dooley and Jeffrey Copley II, Murle and his wife Nicole Copley along with their children Jaylynn Booth, Angel Copley, and Alexis Copley, Marc and his wife Angela Copley along with their children Emily Martin, Amy Copley, Dillan Thompson, and Marc Copley Jr, and April Copley and her husband Byron Rowe along with their children Victoria Perry, Larry Russel Jr, Taylor Rowe, TJ Rowe, and Elizabeth Rowe.
Brian worked many years in several different trades. He worked in the oil field in his early years. Later, he was a licensed electrician for OG&E. Finally, he spent decades working for Firestone/Dayton Tires/UNICCO, where he retired. Following retirement, Brian worked as a courier for a medical supply company. He enjoyed driving.
Outside of work, Brian spent a lot of time working on things around the house. He had a love for tools and fixing things. He also enjoyed playing games such as Chess and Acquire with his family. He was an excellent Bridge player and a whiz at the most difficult Sudoku puzzles.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Lois Copley and his granddaughter Morgan Thompson.
