In memory of
Andy Winchell
October 19, 2016
He was an outstanding teacher and an even better human being. I was one of his students in French for a couple years a very long time ago. He was remarkably devoted to our education and well-being. His assessments of my unspectacular work in his classes were unfailingly fair but delivered in the kindest way possible. I am sure that there were moments when he was unhappy but I don't remember seeing them. I recall him walking jauntily through the halls, greeting everyone with a smile, and appearing to be perpetually happy. It was a privilege to know him and to be one of his students.

Dear Cousin Val & Family:
Even though I only met Brian twice over perhaps a 20-year period,
it was a great pleasure to have spent significant time with you both just two years ago on your visit to Florida, and I will always remember what a friendly,
polite, and modest gentleman he was.
Brian was a great example of how a man's life should be lived, and I remember my late Mom assessing him fondly as, "What a nice guy!"
May Brian's soul rest in peace and may God bless all of you as you recover from this loss.
Warmly,
Walter Legan

Dear Val, Emily
I am saddened to learn of Brian's passing.
I knew him from the Ct Support Group meeting. I met Brian about 4 years ago. I will remember him with a smile on his face and being so genuine and kind especially to a "newbie".
I am truly sorry for your loss and hope you peace. May he rest in peace.
Sincerely, Sally Mumford

I had the pleasure of knowing Brian for 5 days during a six month period of time, 2 years ago. His personality and kindness and warmth had such a positive effect on me and all of us who were playing Bridge at the Village at East Farms. I was a horrible player, yet Brian always made me feel differently. He even brought a Bridge CD Tutorial for me to borrow and download.
I knew nothing of his illustrious background, but he made an impression on me that will live on forever.
Imagine that---how softly powerful was his presence in my life for only 5 days!
I wish you his family my sincerest sympathy.

To Brian's Family,
I was saddened to hear of Brian's passing and my thoughts are with you. I knew him through the Friends of the Whittemore Library where his work on our Board of Directors was greatly appreciated. Brian was a very giving person always willing to help out wherever he could including serving as the president. His presence will be sorely missed but his contributions will not be forgotten..
