It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Keith Fryer, affectionately known as "Jake" to family, who left us on January 28, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on October 2, 1972, in Louisville, Kentucky, Brian was the cherished son of the late Willard Fryer and Betty (Finley) Harris. He now joins his beloved brother, Rodney Fryer, his sister, Angela Lightfoot, and dear nephews, Dougie Fryer and Travis Baker in eternal peace.
Brian is lovingly remembered by his devoted daughter, Vicki Lynn Fryer, and his faithful companion, Tuesday. He took immense joy in his role as a grandfather, and his legacy continues through Rachel Ann Messer, Haley Lynn Messer, Hayden Lee Ballenger, and Mackenzie Jean Sanders. Brian’s family also includes his brother, Dwain (Christine) Fryer, along with his treasured nieces and nephews: Zachery Fryer, Gracie Fryer, Ryanna Baker, Alex Fryer, and Colton Fryer, his sister-in-law, Christy Fryer, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever feel the void his passing leaves.
Brian was the embodiment of a dedicated family man and a tireless worker. With over 25 years at Smith's Laminating, he forged meaningful relationships and earned the admiration of many colleagues. Outside of work, Brian was happiest surrounded by his family, especially at the side of his beloved dog, Tuesday. He held a special place in his heart for his daughter, Vicki, and his grandchildren, taking immense pride in each one of them. Though he may have had a stern exterior, those closest to him knew of his kindness and generosity; he had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Brian's creative talents blossomed during his time at Smith's Laminating, where he skillfully crafted countless pieces not only for work but also for his family and friends, creating lasting memories through his artistry.
We invite all who knew and loved Brian to join us in celebrating his life. Visitation will take place from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 6th, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy.
