Brian Golden Obituary
Brian was born on October 24, 1974, to James & Gale Golden in Dothan, AL. He graduated from Graceville High School in 1992. He received his Corrections certificate in 1999. Brian was employed with FDOC - Jackson County Correctional Institute for the last 23 years and was two years away from retirement.
In his younger years you could find him racing his '72 Nova every chance he got. He loved to hunt and fish. Brian loved spending time with his family, going for boat rides, being on his tractors and playing around on the backhoe. He loved "antiquing" especially anything related to farming.
Brian is preceded in death by grandparents Russell & Winifred Golden, Ausburn & Mildred Register and father-in-law Billy Wayne Owens.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Terri Golden, daughter Ivy (Logan) Smith, grandson Elias Smith, granddaughter Everett (due in August) Smith, parents James & Gale Golden, sister Stacy (Jason) Wright, special nieces Haley (Damian) Needham, Madison Needham, Olivia Needham, mother-in-law Pam Owens, sisters-in-law Kayla (Rob) Stevenson, Christie (Chad) Watts, host of nieces and nephews. Special friends Tony Johnson, Pat Burdeshaw, Lyle Pippin, Ricky Hatfield and Tony Bowen.
A Celebration of Brian's life will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Damascus Baptist Church with Bro. John Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
Family will receive friends at Damascus Baptist Church Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

I was an inmate at Graceville Workcamp in 2007. I worked directly for officer Golden. He was a good man. He played a big role in turning my life in the right direction. I'm very sorry for your loss. Just know that he had a positive impact on the people he worked with.
