Brian A. Grifo

Brian A. Grifo, 73, of North Arlington passed away on March 8, 2026. Born in Passaic, he was raised in and lived in Clifton before moving to North Arlington in 2023. He was a Data Center Manager for Citibank in New York City for almost 30 years before retiring in 2009. Brian was very active with the CYO Basketball programs at St. Andrew's School and St. Clare's School, both in Clifton, where he coached and helped run the leagues.

Devoted husband for 48 years of Karen (Gelcius) Grifo. Beloved father of Stephanie Hart and her husband Michael, Jason Grifo, and Lisa Markovitz and her husband Robert. Cherished grandfather of Abby. Dear brother of Paula Hopkins and her husband Robert and brother-in-law of Dave Gelcius, and Paul Gelcius and his wife Margaret. The family would like to remember in a special way his dear friends Keith Twitty and Hank Nazimek. Brian will be greatly missed by his beloved canine companion, Bailey.

Visiting Wednesday 4-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Thursday, 10:30AM at the funeral home with a prayer service beginning at 11AM. Cremation will be private.
