Brian Lane Hasslen, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2023, in Sheridan, Oregon at the age of 73. Born on January 23, 1950, in Portland, Oregon, Brian was known for his hard work, dedication to his family, and his passion for life.
Brian proudly served his country in the United States Navy where he earned a national defense medal. He was fortunate to meet the love of his life, Linda Jean Morris and they married on January 20, 1980 in Balston, Oregon.
Throughout his life, Brian worked in various fields, including as a millwright, electrician, and auto repair mechanic. His strong work ethic and diverse skill set allowed him to provide for his family and contribute to his community. He was well-respected by his colleagues and friends, who admired his dedication to his work and his ability to tackle any challenge that came his way.
Brian's interests and hobbies were as varied as his professional pursuits. He had a passion for auto repair, timber falling, and maintaining the property he shared with much of his family. His love for his family was evident in the time and energy he devoted to creating a beautiful and welcoming home for them.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Margaret; siblings, Arn Hasslen, Paul Hasslen Sr., and Kelly Baller. Brian is survived by his wife, Linda Hasslen; his children, Jason Hasslen, Edward Hasslen, Robert Laymon, Neal Englund, and Amy Quitevis; 17 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was a beloved figure in the lives of his family members, and his passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. He was always there for them, whether it was to offer a helping hand or to share a laugh. His friendships were equally strong, as he was known for his loyalty, kindness, and generosity. Brian never met a person he didn't consider to be a friend and was always there to lend a helping hand.
As we remember Brian Lane Hasslen, we celebrate a life well-lived. His legacy will live on through the lives of his family members and the countless people he touched throughout his time on this earth. His dedication to his family, his work, and his passions serve as an inspiration to us all, and his memory will be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
His family would like to thank everyone from the family and friends who donated to help with expenses.
