Brian Scott Hastings, affectionately known as Scotty, was born on August 3, 1954, in Austin, Texas, and he passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, in Granger, Texas. He was 70 years old at the time of his passing.

Scotty was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Balinda Hastings, his parents, William and Patricia Hastings, and his nephew, Aaron Bradley. The loss of these cherished family members deeply affected him throughout his life.

A prominent figure in the Granger community, Scotty was the proud owner of The Waterin Hole & Feed Bag in 1994, where he poured his heart and soul into serving his customers and enriching the lives of those around him. His entrepreneurial spirit reflected his dedication and love for his community.

Scotty is survived by his loving daughters, Jonnie Popkoff and Stacie Torres, who were the joy of his life. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Amy Popkoff, Cody Popkoff, Alex Grimes, and Quinten Doss, each of whom brought immense pride and happiness to him. His siblings, Colleen Runyan, Kathy Hastings, Carol Bradley, and brother Mike Hastings, also remember him with deep love and fond memories.

In honor of his life and legacy, a Funeral Service is scheduled for April 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at 807 Carlos G Parker Blvd NW, Taylor, Texas. Following the service, family and friends are invited to the Interment at Granger City Cemetery, starting at 3:00 PM.

Scotty’s presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His spirit of kindness, community service, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
