Brian Hastings Obituary

Brian Hastings, age 70, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1955, in La Porte, Indiana, to Archie and Evelyn (Jordan) Hastings, who have preceded him in death.

Brian married his loving wife, Sheryl (Hansen) Hastings, on Jan. 22, 2010, in Michigan City, Indiana, and she still resides in Michigan City.

He is also survived by his children, Elyse (Mike) Brown and Bryan (Heidi) Radakovich; the light of his life, his granddaughter, Paige Radakovich; brothers, Craig (Terri) Hastings and Jeff (Cindy) Hastings; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Hardacker.

Brian loved woodworking, and spending time with and spoiling his granddaughter, Paige. He also loved playing computer games, making people laugh and traveling with his family. He retired from Mittal Steel after many years of service as a crane operator.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Brian's honor to the American Heart Association.

To my greatest of friends Brian. We met in school in the late 60's. quickly became friends. Played basketball together uncountable times. worked in the same place together for over 40 years. Spent great days on lake michigan on our boats with all our friends. I will always miss our great friendship. May you rest in peace Brian!
