Brian Lee Hunter 58 of Belton MO went home to be with his heavenly father on December 23rd after a long, courageous, and valiant fight with AML & Graft VS. Host Disease.
Brian was born on December 5, 1965 in Kansas City MO to Terry & Joyce Hunter. After graduating from Raytown High in 1984, Brian went on to study Psychology and Education, graduating with a Master's in Education from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse.
After graduation Brian fulfilled his passion by working at Chileda Rehabilitation Center for Children with developmental disabilities. In 1993 Brian met the love of his life Julieann while at work. Brian and Julieann wed in 1994. Brian and Julieann shared 3 boys together, Chad Everett Hunter, Taylor Charles Hunter, and Damien Floyd Hunter. Brian worked most of his career as an Executive Recruiter in the IT Field.
Brian was a family man; family was most important. Brian was so thoughtful and always put Julieann's needs ahead of his own. Brian and Julieann shared a love of travel and snorkeling but anything they did they did together. Brian loved his boys and enjoyed being their dad and was so very proud of the men they have become. Brian loved Kansas City and was proud of his hometown teams The Kansas City Chiefs, The Kansas City Royals and Sporting Kansas City. Brian loved to tell jokes and play jokes on others, mostly Julieann. Brian was a charitable man and was always looking for a way to make the World better by his contributions.
Brian is survived by his loving wife Julieann (Sweetpea) of the home, Chad Hunter of Olathe, Taylor (Victoria) Hunter of Overland Park, his parents Joyce (Wayne) Smith & Terry (Margie)Hunter, his brothers Jeff Hunter & Chase Hunter, his sister Daria Hunter. Brian leaves behind an uncle Glenn (Debbie) Hunter, aunts Marlene (Ray) Bowman, Donna (Dave) Kearsley and several cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his infant son Damien Floyd Hunter, his beloved companion Noodle (the Goldendoodle) and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Without the generous donor from bethematch we would not have had these past 18 months. Please consider registering to be a bone marrow donor at bethematch.org
Brian and Julieann decided there would be no memorial service or celebration of life on a select day, however the family requests that you continue to celebrate Brian every day. When you hear Guns & Roses, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin on the radio, just crank it up and remember Brian, as that is how he would want to be remembered. Brian's ashes will be taken to his favorite beach Boca Catalina in Aruba on his and Julieann's 30th anniversary.
