KILLIAN, Brian - of Flint, aged 70, passed away on November 25, 2025, in the loving care of his daughter, Kathleen (37) and son, Timothy (33). Brian is survived by his two children and his beloved cat, Mya.
Brian Patrick Killian was born in Traverse City, MI on November 2, 1955, to the late Wayne Jacob and Margaret Jean (Brines) Killian. Brian married the love of his life, Marie Jaarsma, on November 5th, 1983, preceding him in death on January 19th, 2023. They spent 39 years together and shared a beautiful love that others could only dream about.
A proud Flint native, Brian attended Flint Central High School and worked several jobs in the downtown area before starting his career at Tom Ryan Distributing (Anheuser-Busch) where he worked for 24 years. He dedicated the rest of his years caring for his wife and supporting her dream of opening the second location of Carother's Olive Oil.
Brian had an adventurous soul. His hobbies included hiking, camping, fishing, and spending time in nature. During his younger years, Brian traveled the country for work and often shared fond memories of his motorcycling and bicycling journeys. Weekly Sunday breakfasts with his children were special moments that will be held so dear in their hearts.
Brian believed in hard work, honesty, and respect to all living creatures. His memory is a reminder to love our planet and the people around us. When we want to feel close to him, we can picture him around the campfire, wearing his smoky cowboy hat, along with his stuffed bunny rabbit under the starlit sky.
No service will be held. The family asks that in lieu of any donations, that you spend a few moments in nature appreciating its beauty. A small dinner will be held at Luigi's El Toro restaurant in early December.
