Brian "Boomer" Lee Lautenslager, 58, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center.
Born on May 31, 1966, in York, PA, he was the son of Barry Lee Lautenslager and the late Barbara Ellen (Lohr) Lautenslager.
Boomer graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1984. He spent his career in the automotive sales industry and was employed by the Kenworth Sales Company in Hagerstown.
Like any successful salesperson, Boomer had the gift of being able to relate to people. His easy conversational nature made everyone he encountered feel like they had just gained a friend. He had a big personality, and his quick wit and good-natured humor could always lighten the mood, leaving everyone with a laugh and a smile.
His personality was only surpassed by his big heart. He was always there when someone needed help - friends, family and four-legged friends.
Boomer enjoyed camping with his wife and friends and watching the trains with his great-nephew, "Little Big Dog", Blake. He was a constant presence in his niece Kaitlyn's life, never missing an event, big or small.
Everyone leaves an impression on the lives of others. Boomer's impact was bigger than most.
In addition to his father, Boomer is survived by his wife, Christy Lautenslager; his sister, Becky Payne and her husband Turtle; his in-laws, Bradley and Sue White; his sister-in-law Carrie Gatrell and her husband Christopher; two nieces, Kaitlyn (Red) Hoover and Brianna Payne; and two nephews, Bryan Payne (Big Dog) and Brandon Payne; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his dogs, Molly and Sammie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, May 23 from 6-8 pm at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown, MD 21740. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Rd., Hagerstown MD 21740. https://www.hswcmd.org/donate
