Brian Thomas McKenna, a devoted family man and lover of the outdoors, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on January 2, 1947, Brian lived a life filled with adventure, love, and an enduring connection to nature.
Brian had a passion for the great outdoors, he loved fishing with his grandchildren and ice fishing with his buddies. When he wasn't by the water, he could be found riding the backroads on his Harley, feeling the freedom and peace that came with the open road. He also loved racing, from the local dirt tracks of Minnesota to Daytona Beach and Kansas City for NASCAR events, he could be found cheering on his favorite drivers. At the end of the day, he loved the simplicity of life, nights by a campfire under the stars were where Brian truly felt at home. His easy going nature and infectious love for the small pleasures in life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela McKenna, with whom he shared a beautiful life full of love and adventure. He also leaves behind his brothers, John (Laurie) McKenna and Cubby McKenna, who were his lifelong companions and friends.
Brian was a proud and loving father to his five children: Shannon McKenna, Casey (Amber) McKenna, Katie (Chris) Lehn, Kelsey (Joe) Washek, and Krystal (Luke) Kraft. His legacy lives on through his 16 cherished grandchildren: Irene (Anthony), Naomi, Hayley (Zach), Kylie, Nicole, Daniele, Daisy, Matthew, Wyatt, Xander, Noah, Liam, Elizabeth, Nora, Jaxson, and Charlie Jo and 1 great grandchild: Idrissa.
Brian’s life was a testament to the joy of family, the thrill of adventure, and the beauty of simplicity. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his spirit find peace in the wild places he loved, and his memory live on in the hearts of those he touched. Rest in peace, Brian, May the backroads always be smooth, the fish plentiful, and the campfires eternal.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home.
