Brian Mischke

Brian Mischke, 67, Horace, ND passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at his home.

Brian Brent Mischke was born June 19, 1958 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Loren and Donna (Barta) Mischke. He graduated from Lake Park (MN) High School in 1976 and enlisted in the US Air Force. Following his service in the Air Force, he joined the ND Air National Guard. On August 30, 1980, Brian married Lynette Larson at Lake Park Lutheran Church. They made their home in Horace, ND. He worked for 30 years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of ND as a tech support person in the IT department.

He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Brian enjoyed the simpler things in life but family and his grandkids were of utmost importance. He could often be found lighting the mood in any conversation with his sense of humor.

Brian is survived by his wife, Lynette; daughter, Amy (Rhino Duncan) Mischke; son, Chris (Christina) Mischke; five grandchildren, Casey, Payton, Emery, Kolter and Austin; mother, Donna Mischke; sister, Paula (Noah) Cashman; as well as his loving dog Rylee.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Don and Marcy Barta, Theodore and Cora Mischke.

Memorial Service: Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 2 PM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo, ND with visitation one hour prior.
