Brian Kent Moore

Brian Kent Moore went home to be with his Lord and savior on February 20, 2026 at his home in Cashiers, NC.
Burial will be held at Houston National Cemetery on March 31st at 10:50AM, followed by a celebration of life at The Woodlands First- North Campus at 12PM.
Brian was born in Louisville, KY. He attended Westport Highschool and his soccer team were undefeated state champions in 1980. Brian then attended and graduated from Indiana University. He served with distinction as a helicopter pilot in both the Army and Coast Guard and retired after 20 years of service. During his time in the Coast Guard, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Brian continued to fly for Petroleum Helicopters until his retirement in 2023.
Brian was highly involved in his community and a deacon at Highlands First Baptist Church in Highlands, NC. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and papa. He had a passion for building wooden boats and never met a boat he did not like.
Brian is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Elizabeth, his sons Oreste, Luis, and Jack, mother Bettye, many brothers and sisters, and his seven grandchildren.
