Brian "Scott" Obbey, age 67 and a resident of Amherst, passed away at his home on Monday, November 3, 2025 after a long illness.
Scott was born in Lorain to the late Allen A. and Virginia J. (nee Lewis) Obbey. He was a 1976 graduate of Admiral King High School. Scott retired from the former United States Steel, Lorain where he worked for 28 years, retiring as a craneman. He also was formerly employed at McArthur & Schroeder, Lorain where he worked in HVAC. He ended his working career as a cook at Ziggy's in Amherst. Throughout his life, Scott enjoyed music and regularly attended Rockin on the River in Lorain, watching sports, riding his motorcycle, and cooking. Most special to him was spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his son Brian Obbey (Angela Zanni) of Amherst, daughter and son-in-law Jamie and Ryan DiSibio of Connecticut, grandchildren; Brayden and Dylan Obbey and Jackson and Madison DiSibio, brother and sister-in-law Elliott "Moke" and Kim Obbey, nephews; Darrel, Jordan and Alex Obbey, niece Heather Obbey, three great nephews, and four great nieces.
In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by his brothers Allen and Darrel Obbey.
Family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 5-8 p.m.
