Brian E Peterson

Brian E. Peterson, 86, of Winnebago, Ill., passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Born August 24, 1939, in Rockford, he was the son of Ellard and Mabel Peterson. Brian married the love of his life, Maragret "Peg" Peterson, on August 5, 1961, in Bloomington, Illinois.

Brian's family was everything to him. Being able to be with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren brough him so much joy. Brian worked as a skilled tradesman for 44 years. He worked as an electrician for 28 years through IBEW 364 and worked as a welder repairman for 16 years at Chrysler through UAW 1268. He was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pecatonica. Outside of family, work and his devotion, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and boating and he was a Boy Scout leader for many years.

Brian is survived by his wife, Peg; his children, Christi (Rick) Rhoads, Mark (Annette) Peterson, and Tricia (Brad) Hatfield; his grandchildren, Sean (Courtney) Kahly, Caitlyn (Gil) Galvan, Morgan Peterson, Nick (Kelsi) Peterson, Kelley (Justin) Hartman, Adam (Liz) Peterson, Megan (James) Chadwick, and Patrick Hatfield; 16 great grandchildren; and his brother, Barry (Ming) Peterson. He was predeceased by his parents.

Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 11 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 126 W 5th St, Pecatonica, IL 61063. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
