Brian David Remite, 34, of Franklin, New Jersey, passed away on December 31, 2025. He was born in Rahway and grew up in Colonia, New Jersey.
Brian is a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC), Local 1 and was employed by the Otis Elevator Company out of Fairfield, New Jersey, servicing the New York Metropolitan area.
Brian was a student of life who was constantly engaged in his diverse passions. A life-long hockey player and coach, Brian rooted for the New York Rangers when he wasn't on the ice himself. An avid reader, he readily absorbed new theories and concepts to share with friends and family and channeled that same curiosity into video gaming. Brian was also a talented guitar player and DJ who lived for music, enjoying a wide spectrum of styles and genres. Above all, Brian loved being outdoors, fishing and exploring nature like the characters in one of his favorite novels, A River Runs Through It. In recent years, he had also taken up golf, adding another dimension to his enjoyment of the outdoors.
Brian always enjoyed a good conversation regardless of the topic or company. Due to his curiosity and love of learning, he was a natural problem solver, willing to share his knowledge and experiences with others. He was very hard-working and truly dedicated to his family, friends, and career.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, daughter, Evie Louise, father, Roy (Christine), mother, Denise (Victor), and sisters, Rachel (Onesemiah), and Meghan.
Visitors will be received at the S.W. Brown and Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre Street, Nutley, NJ on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a service conducted at 2:30 pm.
