Brian "Scott" Shaffer, 58, of St. Albans, WV, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 12, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Wayne Shaffer; his mother, Ramona Skinner; paternal grandparents, Harry and Rosa (Harris) Shaffer; maternal grandparents, Sylvia Skinner-Pugh and Ray Skinner; cousin, Mark Shaffer, , and beloved pets, Enzo and Diego.

Scott is survived by his brother and sister, Richard Shaffer Jr. and Candace Lee; sister-in-law, Debra Shaffer; nieces and nephews, Kellen and Kristen Shaffer, Trinity Shaffer, Anthony Shaffer, Brandon Lee and Taylor Reese, and cousins, Danny and Joe Shaffer.

An auto mechanic and auto body painter by trade, Scott had a passion for Volkswagens. Scott was a genuine friend and loved those closest to him with a fierceness that couldn't be matched. He enjoyed playing video games and spending time with friends, and working on his "project" cars. He was a true animal lover, as shown with the devotion to his own pets and interactions with anyone else's pets that he met.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, 1248 Greenbrier Street, Charleston, WV 25311.
