BRIAN S. SHOCKLEY's Life Journey
On November 6, 2025 Our Beloved Brian "Big Guy" Shockley was chosen to take his reserved seat at God's table.
Brian Sakar Shockley was born on 11 JUN 1978 to the late Gwendolyn J Thomas and Eugene W. Shockley in Oxford, England. He traveled/lived in Germany, Panama City Florida, Houston Texas and finally settling in San Antonio TX.
Brian attended William Howard Taft High School where he excelled in football and graduated in 1996. He went on to earn his Bachelors of Science Degree -Cum Laude- from Texas A&M University of San Antonio in 2022. His kind and gentle spirit was on full display as he taught 6th grade Science, coached girl Volleyball and basketball at Brentwood Steam school of innovation in the Edgewood ISD. His love and admiration for our future leaders was evident as he was more than just an educator, caregiver and coach. He was a mentor, he was a friend
As a small child (if there were such a thing lol), He loved wrestling and antennas. He would break off all of the antennas from the cars (and get in trouble). As he got older, he enjoyed playing basketball, softball and kickball with his family. Brian was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Lakers. Brian was a shy and gentle young man who was unselfishly giving to his family who was adored by all.
He leaves behind to mourn and yet to treasure his memories are his amazing children-Alexis, Brevin, Briana, and Kamari Shockley Of San Antonio Tx. Brother-Anthony (Chandra) Watson of Houston TX, Sister-Taisha (Conjouri) Martin of Willingboro, New Jersey, Sister- Trena Thomas and Brother Andre Thomas of San Antonio TX. His 6 nieces and four nephews and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
Waiting to welcome him into the Kingdom of God are his parents Eugene "Gene" Shockley and Gwendolyn "Gwen" Thomas, Eugene, his grand parents- Ernest and Ethel Shockley, Pearlie Starkes and Odiphe "Ben" Glover. His uncles- Billy Rogers, James Shockley and Jerome Starkes To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Brian, please visit our floral store.
