Brian Duane Stump, age 55, passed away on January 20, 2026, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was born on July 17, 1970, in Roanoke, Virginia.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Everett Lewis Stump; his siblings, Everett Lewis Stump Jr. and Sherry Darlene Stump. He is survived by his loving mother, Affie Pentecost Stump; his nieces, Lynette Sanborn, Kayla Leftwich, and Amber Stump; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish his memory.
By trade, Brian was a welder, known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, he found joy in the outdoors, playing his guitar, and building computers. He was a man of many talents, always curious, creative, and hands-on.
Though Brian often carried a tough exterior, those who knew him well understood that beneath it was a deeply soft and caring heart. He loved quietly but fiercely, and he meant more to his family and friends than words can fully express.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Centra Hospice and Lynchburg Health & Rehab for their compassionate care and support during his final days.
A service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held at a later date.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
