Brian Umstead Obituary
Brian E. Umstead, 66, East Lane, Palmerton, died peacefully on Thursday evening, Sept. 28, 2023, in his home. He was the husband of the late Susan O. (Andrews) Umstead.
Born in Bryn Mawr, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Charles "Ted" and Hildegard Umstead.
Brian was employed as a regional hydraulic sales manager for the Rexroth Corporation, Bethlehem, and Dinamic Oil Co., N.C., retiring in 2021.
He was a 1974 graduate of the Palmerton High School and later graduated from LCCC, Schnecksville.
An avid golfer, he was a member of the former Blue Ridge Country Club, Palmerton.
Brian enjoyed baseball, especially the Philadelphia Phillies, collecting baseball cards, traveling and watching action movies.
Surviving are two sons, Neil W. of Mountain Top and Zachary of Palmerton; two granddaughters, Tirzah and Zooey; a sister Maria, wife of Josef Staudt of Bruckmuhl, Rosenheim, Germany; and four nephews.
Service: Private family service. Interment, Indianland Cemetery, Almond Drive, Lehigh Twp. Arrangements by Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton. Online condolences can be offered at www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.

My sincere condolences to the family. We were both graduates of 74 in PHS. As was the norm in the High School years, classmates get separated by sections and goals. Though you head in different directions and time adds space; you really never forget each other. As I reflect, I can't recall a time when paths crossed that he was not smiling or happy.

To the Umstead Family, sorry for your loss. We grew-up and were PHS 74 classmates together. Although we kinda grew apart in High School, I remember Brian as a "Cool" guy! RIP Brian !

Oh, Brian was the man I knew many years ago. He was always a nice person and just one of those people that you could not not like. I was saddened to hear about his passing of God put a blessing on his family and on him in Jesus name amen.
