Obituary for Brianna Bien-Aime
Brianna "Bri Smiley" Bien-Aime: A Legacy of Light and Love
Born and raised in the heart of Boston, Brianna (Bri) Bien-Aime was the radiant daughter of Jeantius and Marieta Bien-Aime. She was the baby of a big, lively family, a proud sister to Widelmine, Jenny, Jhony, Nedsen, and Sewicka. Bri's heart was so expansive that she didn't just stick to the family she was born into; she hand-picked her soul-siblings-Daliza, Geordy, Tyshawn, Rickardo, Chanel, Shayla, Lixela, and Edwyla-to walk through life with her. To Bri, family wasn't just a priority; it was her entire world. Growing up amidst the beautiful chaos of laughter, lessons, and unconditional love, she forged the resilient spirit and magnetic personality that would become her trademark.
A Journey of Unmatched Strength
In her final chapter, Bri showed us the true meaning of courage. When faced with a daunting cancer diagnosis, she chose to navigate her journey with a quiet, fierce independence. She kept the heaviest parts of her struggle to herself, not out of secrecy, but out of a profound, selfless desire to protect the people she loved most.
While she fought, she also lived. She traveled the world-soaking up the sun in Aruba, Mexico, Curaçao, Turks & Caicos, Puerto Rico, and St. Maarten. She chose to fill her final days with color and adventure rather than sorrow. Her strength was unmatched, and her determination to find joy in the face of the unthinkable was nothing short of heroic.
Brilliance in Every Space
Bri's professional life was a testament to her sharp mind and relentless drive. From her beginnings in the Year Up program in 2014 to her success in tech sales at Workday, she moved through the professional world with ease. Whether she was navigating a high-stakes boardroom or a family cookout, Bri had the rare gift of making everyone feel seen. Her impactful work at Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Medical Center wasn't just about technical skills; it was about the excellence and "heart" she brought into everything she did.
An Iconic Spirit
To know Bri was to be moved by her. She was a woman of deep faith-God-fearing, grounded, and unapologetically herself. She possessed a quiet intelligence and a wit that kept you on your toes. She was the life of the party, a "one of one", an icon who set trends rather than following them. Her fashion was impeccable, looking as though high-end designers had gathered just to dress her, but it was her confidence that truly made her glow.
She was strong-minded and resilient, moving through the world with deep self-assurance. Bri did what she wanted, not out of rebellion, but because she knew exactly who she was and what she valued.
Her Lasting Reflection
Though she endured a long and difficult battle, her faith never wavered. She continued worshipping God, praising His holy name, and immersing herself in His Word. She reminded us that it is in the middle of the storm that our praise should rise the highest.
If Bri could leave us with one truth, it would be this: she loved her people, and she chose them well. Her legacy isn't found in titles or accolades, but in the echoes of her laughter and the strength she modeled for us all.
She was a kaleidoscope of names to those who loved her: Brii Smiiley to the world, Aunty Boo to her nieces and nephews, Poupe to Aunt Asmine & cousin Benjy, BooBoo to her family, Bah to her Day 1s, BriBri to her mommy, Twin to her twins, and Bestie to her best friends. But above all, she was "The Baby" to her family and the cherished "Princess" to her devoted mother and father.
Bri's light didn't fade; it simply moved into the hearts of everyone lucky enough to be loved by her.
She is survived by her parents & siblings. Great niece: Amelia(Goddaughter). Nieces: Geordy, Aaliyah, Elana(Goddaughter). Nephews: Terrence, Jaxz, Jordan, Nano, Nathan.
