Bridget McCay Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 24, 2025.
Bridget Ann McCay passed on December 20, 2025, leaving behind a world that is now slightly quieter, significantly less funny, and deeply lacking in sarcastic commentary. Born on August 7, 1951, Bridget was 74 years young at her untimely passing. She had a huge, loving heart.

From the moment Bridget entered a room (usually late), joy followed in her wake; sometimes intentionally, sometimes by accident. Known for a quick, sometimes sarcastic wit, contagious laughter, and an uncanny ability to turn ordinary moments into something special, Bridget made people feel lighter just by being there.

Bridget had a gift for finding humor in almost everything, especially when things went wrong (often). She believed laughter was a survival skill and used it generously - on friends, family, and occasionally herself. If you laughed until you couldn't breathe, chances are Bridget was involved, or at least in the vicinity.

Bridget is survived by people who will randomly think of her, laugh out loud, and then miss her all over again. Her legacy lives on in shared stories, terrible jokes, and memories that still make people smile years later.

In a more serious vein, Bridget truly was a shining light in an often-dim world. Her siblings, Sharon, Amy, Terry, Tim and Jenny, her life partner Kathleen, and many nieces, nephews and cousins, will all miss her terribly. Bridget was a healthcare professional with strong ties to the Fort Mitchell and Fort Wright, Kentucky areas, and was known for her management roles in laboratory services and regulatory affairs. She was a proud graduate of Northern Kentucky University, and her lengthy career specialized in lab management, quality control, regulatory compliance, and team leadership in healthcare settings.

But enough of all that. Bridget loved her life partner, her family, her many friends, Kentucky basketball, and the Bengals and Reds, not necessarily in that order, and depending on how they were playing. In lieu of flowers, please laugh loudly, tell a dumb joke, and bring joy to someone else - Bridget would've loved that.

A celebration of life will be later at the convenience of the family. Swindler & Currin is serving the family.

What an accurate description of a wonderful person and friend. Bridget was truly one of a kind and friend to all. I will miss her sarcastic wit and dedication to her profession. The world is a little more boring without Bridget in it. Rest in peace, my friend.
