Bridgette Marie Sisson

Bridgette Marie Sisson, 52, of Exeter, CA passed away peacefully after a brief and
courageous battle with cancer on January 20, 2023. She was the oldest daughter born
in Providence, Rhode Island on April 9, 1970 to Albert and Sheila Sisson.
Bridgette was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Sheila Sisson.
Bridgette is survived by the love of her life, Joe "JoeMax" Mendez Aceves, who were
together for 15 years; brothers, Scott, Sean, and Glenn Sisson; sister, Jeanette Parker;
daughter, Jordan Escareño (Luis); granddaughter, Citlali Hernandez-Escareño;
numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; extended family, the Garcias, the Holmans, the
Munozes, the Larsens, the Mendezes, and the Scotts; and many other friends.
Bridgette lived most of her life in Oxnard, California and then moved to Exeter,
California in 2009. She treasured her time with the Duncans as a child camping with
them at the Sequoias and jumping on their large in-ground trampoline. Bridgette
attended Channel Islands High School and graduated in 1988. She loved playing
basketball in high school/community college and loved her basketball family. Bridgette
worked for Walmart in the Produce Department, Vons Pharmacy as a Pharmacy
Technician, and at several different IHOPs throughout the years. She was an amazing
"people" person and made friends everywhere she went. She lived her life to the
fullest and loved spending time with all of her "surrogate" children. Whether it was
those that she babysat, helped raise, or those she took care of as a child daycare
provider; she enjoyed spending time with all of them. She often took them riding bikes
and boogie boarding at the beach. She would spend time with them on Spring Break,
taking them shopping and letting them swim in her pool. She also loved her dogs and
took them for walks at the river whenever she could. She loved to travel on her own
and with friends. Bridgette especially enjoyed the holidays, making Christmas cookies,
and playing Tripoley after the family gatherings. She will forever be missed by all those
who loved her.
Visitation is scheduled from 5pm to 9pm on Thursday, February 2 nd at Reardon Funeral
Home, 511 North A Street, Oxnard. Graveside services are scheduled at 1:30pm on
Friday, February 3 rd at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 North H Street, Oxnard.
