Brien D. Lamkins

Brien D. Lamkins, 79, of Suffield, beloved husband of Janice (Sladyk) Lamkins, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021.

Born July 7, 1942, in Hartford, son of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Walsh) Lamkins. Brien was a lifelong resident of Suffield. He proudly served with the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Crisis, and was an active member of the American Legion Post 133. He worked over 30 years for the state of Connecticut at the Enfield Correctional Institution before retiring. Brien was an avid golfer, a man who could tell a good joke; he lived life to the fullest, but his greatest pleasure in life was spending time with family and friends.

Besides Janice, his wife of 54 years, he is survived by his three daughters, Kellie Gillis of Granville, Massachusetts, Beth Klisiewicz and her husband, Todd of Orlando, Florida, Heather Neiweem and her husband, Dan of Granville; a sister, Maureen Perrone and her husband, Arthur of Enfield; his six grandchildren, Ryan Gillis, Taylor, Danielle, and Lauren Klisiewicz, Parker, and Madison Neiweem.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 5, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. N. (Rt. 159), Suffield.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, Dec. 6, at Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. Burial with military honors will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
