BRIGITTE LISA BALLARD

Brigitte Lisa Ballard August 6, 1949 - July 20, 2025 She was born in a small village in what was then known as East Germany.Her family first escaped to West Berlin and were then relocated to Amberg, West Germany. They were waiting on housing to become available in Nuremberg, West Germany. Her father actually helped build the apartment building they would move into. For her 18th birthday, she got to take a bus trip to Italy. When she returned she was downtown when she met a young Soldier on the 8th of August 1968. Ten days later, that young Soldier asked her to marry him. SHE SAID YES. Their first wedding anniversary was spent in separate locations, he in Vietnam and her with her sister in Michigan. Since John made the Army a career, they moved several times and she never really complained. After returning to the United States in 1980, with two kids in tow, they settled in at Fort Campbell, KY, living on the Tennessee side. She went to work at the Delicatessen in the commissary, working her way up to Assistant Manager and finally Manager. She worked full time while raising two kids. In 1985, John retired from the United States Army. They relocated to Clarksville, TN where they would reside for 31 years. She then decided that they would be moving to Florida. She was a wonderful, caring and loving wife and friend to John for almost 58 years. She was a warm and caring mother and friend to her daughter Tracy. She was truly happy that her daughter found happiness with her husband John. She was a wonderful sister to Gisela, Ursula and Günther; Aunt to Terry, Sylvia, Jürgen, and Klaus; Great Aunt to Terry, Sylvia, Jürgen, and Klaus' children. Above all, she was a better friend to all. God must have needed another Angel. I'll love and miss you forever Brigitte, Love John.
