Britt Pieper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Minnesota Valley Funeral Home - South Chapel on Apr. 1, 2024.
Britt L. Pieper, age 57, of Hanska passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at his home in Hanska surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous 5½ year battle with cancer that started in his esophagus.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday, April 4th, 2024, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH chapel with Ralph Flitter officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3 PM – 6:30 PM on Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Britt is survived by his wife and children: Jeri, Chance (Tammy VanRooyen), Rebel, and Rumor Pieper of Hanska, Mother-in-law, Linda Blekestad; sisters/brothers-in-law, Jody (Amit) Blekestad Bhate, Jill (Gary) Blekestad-Lehman, Joni Blekestad (Patrick Kasper), Javan (Nicole) Blekestad, and Jade (Dan) Blekestad-Kral; and sixteen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Laura Pieper; brother, Scott Pieper; and father-in-law, Jerry Blekestad.
Britt L. Pieper was born November 1, 1966, in Madelia, to Robert and Laura (Asche) Pieper. He graduated from Madelia High School in 1985. On July 3, 1993, Britt was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jeri Blekestad at Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. The couple was blessed with three children: Chance, Rebel, and Rumor. Britt worked at Mathiowetz Construction, Holm Industry, driving truck for Jerry Blekestad Trucking, and for the last 18 years at AMPI in New Ulm. Britt enjoyed camping, demo derbies with his son, fishing, shooting guns, driving four-wheeler and snowmobile, spending time with friends, and playing with the many Rottweilers he had over the years. He was blessed with a loving marriage of over 30 years. Britt's greatest pride in life was his wife and children. He loved his family more than anything and fought hard through over 100 chemo treatments to get as much time with them as possible, with Jeri and Chance caring for him right until the end. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Blessed be his memory.
Special thank you to Dr. Khanfar and the New Ulm Allina oncology and hospice team for their loving care for Britt over the last few years.
