Britton "Britt" Ray Rice, 50, passed away unexpectedly, December 19, 2025, at his home in Hutchinson, KS. He was born August 29, 1975, in Hutchinson, to Dennis and Karen (Hoefer) Rice.

Britt graduated from Nickerson High School in 1995. For several years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for KDOT.

Britt's faith in God was unwavering and for 40 years, he was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ. In recent years, he attended Soul Winner's Mission Church, where he served on Wednesday and Sunday.

In his spare time, Britt enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching old westerns, and spending time in his man cave. Above all, he loved the time spent with his grandchildren and family the most.

On November 21, 2009, he married Jesica Dawn Schrag in Hutchinson. They shared over 16 years of marriage.

Britt is survived by: his loving wife, Jesica Rice of Hutchinson, KS; mother, Karen Rice of Hutchinson, KS; children, Hunter (Tatum) Rice of Hutchinson, KS, Wyatt Rice of Nickerson, KS, bonus-children, Walker (Mackenzie) Schrag of Derby, KS, Pearson (Taylor) Schrag of Hutchinson, KS, Josie Schrag of Emporia, KS, Carter Schrag of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Chad Rice of Valley Center, KS; grandfather, Robert Hoefer of CA; and grandchildren, Blakelyn Rice, Ridge Rice, Brinnley Schrag, Rhetson Schrag, and Holland Schrag.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Dennis Rice; two infant sisters; grandparents, C. Ray and Frances Rice; grandparents, Harvey and Glenda Reed; and uncle, Steve Rice.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27th, 2025, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Ryan Raigoza and Wayne DeWindt officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, December 26th, 2025, with family present to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
