Brodie William Slonski

Brodie William Slonski, 17, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2025.

Born in Pittsfield on January 14, 2008, he was the son of Andrew LaPlante and Amy Slonski.

Brodie was a senior at Taconic High School where he was enrolled in the Metal Fabrication program and was eagerly looking forward to graduating in June. He took great pride in his schoolwork and had a bright future ahead.

Brodie was employed at Subway for over a year and truly enjoyed his job, looking forward to being promoted to manager when he turned 18.

Brodie was born with the gift of gab, always ready to have a conversation with people and share information he found interesting. He loved to cook and bake and often used his kitchen skills as a way to show his love for others. He took part in many activities throughout his life, including the Taconic golf and bowling teams. He also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing with his friends and talking about cars with his father.

In his early years, Brodie was active in basketball, baseball, and soccer. Brodie had a deep love of music, which played a huge role in his life - he rarely went anywhere without his headphones.

Brodie was a kind and compassionate soul who connected with people of all ages. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and had a special way of making those around him feel seen and cared for.

He is survived by his father, Andrew and wife Jesse LaPlante, with whom he lived; his loving mother, Amy Slonski and her late partner Sean M. Thomas of Pittsfield; sister Zoey LaPlante and brother Anthony Gamberdella both of Pittsfield; Sean's children, Kailee and Kaelen Thomas of Pittsfield; Paternal grandparents, David and Dawn LaPlante of Connecticut; Vanessa and Ed Yankus of New York; Robert Gamberdella of North Carolina and Dorinda Gamberdella of Pittsfield; Maternal grandmother, Linda Marie Slonski of Pittsfield; Uncle and Godfather Paul Newman of Pittsfield; his aunt and godmother, Jennifer Wojtkowski and husband Eric, and their children Odin, Wrex, Freya, and Lemi of Lanesborough; uncle Brian LaPlante, aunt Rachel Quick and uncle Joseph Gamberdella; his godmother Jacelyn Wojieck and family. As well as many loving cousins, extended family and friends. Brodie also leaves behind his girlfriend, Savannah Restivo, who held a very special place in his heart. He is also survived by many family pets, but especially his cat Aggie, whom he shared a special bond with.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, William S. Slonski.

Funeral Notice: Calling hours will be held, Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield from 12 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. with a funeral home service to follow at 2:45 p.m.
