Brody Mitchell Wingert passed away August 27, 2025. He was born May 5, 2009, in Las Vegas, NV.
Brody was a loyal friend that was always there to share his smile and to make you laugh. He was an avid gamer participating in Esports at school, Dungeons & Dragons groups both at school and in the community and was a member of the Council Grove High School Robotics team. Brody was active with the Unshakable Youth Group (First Baptist Church of Council Grove). He regularly attended Wednesday Evening meetings, events and Super Summers for 3 years.
Loving family preceding him include his grandparents Charles Jenks, Sandra Hanshaw, Sharon (Pidge) Wingert, Cathy Wingert, Great grandparents Hellen and Floyd “Bud” Jenks, Patricia and Edward Hanshaw, and Willis Hoch.
Brody is survived by his mother, Lena (Ryan) Gosnell; father Grant (Stacey) Wingert, sister Addyson Wingert. His grandfather David (Pat) Wingert, grandmother Dawn Gosnell (Brad Potter), and great grandmother Shirley Hoch. Along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 4th at 2:00pm in the Morris County 4H Building, Council Grove, Ks. With a reception to follow at the First Baptist Church, 501 Country Lane, Council Grove, KS.
Memorial Donations may be sent to the Brody Wingert Memorial Fund, c/o Sawyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 137 N. Union St, Council Grove, KS 66846 or to the First Baptist Church youth program in memory of Brody at address above.
A private inurnment is planned for the spring.
