A Graveside Service for Bruce Randolph Carter, 89, will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. McKee Williams.
Bruce was born on June 2, 1935, in Jefferson, Texas to Hiram Duffy Carter, Sr. and Margaret Jewell Smith Carter and passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in Shreveport.
Bruce was a resident of Shreveport. He graduated as a salutatorian from Jefferson High School. He married the love of his life, Alice Sue Carter, and they have been married for 66 wonderful years. He was a past Master Mason with W.H. Booth Lodge #380. He worked over 50 years with the Crow-Burlingame Co. and locally with Tillman Auto Parts/Bumper to Bumper.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram Duffy Carter, Sr. and Margaret Jewell Carter; and brothers, Dalton and Gerald Carter. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Alice Sue Carter; daughter, Vickie Ramey and husband, Terry Ramey; and granddaughter, Emily Ramey.
The family would like to express special thanks to Shreveport Fire Station #3 for their help and kindness.
The family suggests memorials may be made to a local animal shelter of their choice or the American Cancer Society.
