Bruce Robert Clark, 77, died Friday, July 5, 2024, at his home in Iron Mountain, MI with his family and loved ones at his side.
Bruce was born June 16,1947 at the Stambaugh General Hospital in Stambaugh, Michigan. He was the son of the late Earl and Rose (Tersi) Clark of Stambaugh. He was a graduate of Stambaugh High School and went on to Michigan Technology University earning a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. This is where he met his future wife Elizabeth "Beth" Tonkin. Bruce spent most of his career, 28 years, at Lake Shore Inc. starting as a design engineer and advanced through several management positions with relocations to Boise, ID and Denver, Colorado. Upon returning to Iron Mountain, Michigan, he was promoted to Vice President of the Mining Machinery Group and then, President. He was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church, loved to play golf, and was caring and loving to all those who knew him. He enjoyed travel, food, and spending time with loved ones. He was a great story-teller and loved to make people laugh. He was so many things to so many people and made sure everyone he knew felt his love. Bruce never met a stranger. With a smile and a few kind words, people instantly bonded with him and became friends. He was a gift to everyone he met.
Bruce is survived by his wife Beth of 54 years; his daughters, Debby (Andy) Oliver, Sarah Powell (Jason Gendron), Jessy Clark (Travis Garrett), and Jennifer (Kayle) Ahola. He also leaves 6 grandchildren, Alex and Ella Oliver, Luke and Madison Powell, Anneli Ahola, and Gage Gendron. Bruce was the youngest of eight children and is survived by his sisters, Shirley (Bob) Nardi, Rose Marie (Mike) Haag, Dolores (Al) Deatheridge, Judith (Mike) Childs, and Sue (Fred) Winborne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Earl Clark, his sisters LaVerne (Harold) Allen, infant sister Vivian, Carolyn (Jerry) Reidel, and his in-laws, Robert (Bob) and Eunice Tonkin.
Visitation will be held on August 9, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Iron Mountain, Michigan, from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM (noon). A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 PM noon at the church. Rev. Crystal Thomas will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, it is respectfully requested that gifts of money shall be given to the Dickinson County Cancer Unit Loan Closet and Trinity United Methodist Church.

Pam Angeli Orr

November 12, 2024

At a class reunion SHS´65, he seemed quite shocked to see me and, with a twinkle in his eye, said "Pam Angeli, I thought you would have been a nun!!" I must have been pretty boring in high school (plus I´m not catholic). And I´m still boring!
But he was such an upbeat, happy guy, and I pray his family has peace.
