Bruce Doty Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frazer Cremations & Funerals - South Lyon on Jan. 2, 2026.
Bruce Doty, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 1, 2026, at 8:03 p.m., at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.
Bruce was the devoted husband of Ginger Doty, his wife of 50 years, whom he loved deeply and faithfully. Together they built a life rooted in family, laughter, and unwavering commitment. He was a proud and loving father to Janice Twesten and Melissa Loewen, and a devoted grandfather to nine grandchildren whom he loved immensely: Avery, Reese, and Blake (Brad and Janice Twesten), and Hunter, Reid, Drake, Keaton, Nyls, and Sterling (Melissa and Larry Loewen).
Bruce and Ginger were also the proud owners of Granny's Delight AFC Home in Brighton, Michigan, where they shared their compassion, care, and commitment to others.
Bruce was a man who would do anything for anyone. He was known for his quick wit, sarcastic humor, and unmistakable stubborn streak, all of which is fondly remembered and cherished by those who knew him best. As a Carpenter, he took great pride in his craftsmanship and strong work ethic, enjoying working with his hands, believing in doing things the right way, and left his mark on many homes and familes in the Brighton area. He was loyal, kind, and always willing to help.
Bruce loved classic rock and enjoyed singing along, a joy that remained with him until his final moments.
He is survived by his wife Ginger Doty; his children Janice Twesten and Melissa Loewen; his grandchildren; his siblings Debbie Caldwell (spouse Rick), Dawn Zapinski (spouse Ed), Wendy Gallaway (spouse Mike), and Henry Doty; his sister-in-law Lynn Chavies (Rick); brother-in-law Billy Rogers (spouse Jeanette); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents Keith and Janet Doty (Juanita); his siblings Bill Doty, Doug Doty, and Christopher Doty; and his brothers-in-law Joe Rogers and Billy T. Rogers.
Bruce will be remembered as a man who loved his family deeply, lived with humor and heart, and left a lasting impact on all who knew him. To his beloved wife Ginger, thank you for loving him so completely and for sharing him with all of us.
