Bruce Dumars passed away in his Woodland residence on Monday, September 4th, 2023 at the age of 74. Born July 12th, 1949, Mr. Dumars was a native of Woodland and lifelong community member of Yolo County. He was the son of Theo and Frances (Nelson) Dumars and a 1967 graduate of Woodland High School. A graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in Ornamental Horticulture, Bruce returned to Woodland to start the landscape design firm, Dumars, Inc. which operated for five decades serving the greater Yolo County area in landscape design, supply and maintenance operations. An avid lover of music and an accomplished drummer, Bruce performed in several local and regional bands during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. In addition to his musical talent, Bruce was a water-skiing legend on the Sacramento River and Lake Tahoe, enjoying the wake of classic mahogany boats on his beloved Maherajah flat-bottomed ski. He is survived by his spouse of 54 years, Sandra L. (Cooper) Dumars and sons Jason (Christina), Matthew and Dustin (Jonell), as well as, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
