Bruce L. Freeman, 95, husband of the late Wilbur Jean Freeman, died Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Oscar Osteen and Pearl Ligon Freeman. He was a lifelong resident of Union Bleachery and San Souci communities.

Bruce was a devoted member of Reedy River Baptist Church where he held various church offices over the years. He was always appreciative of the support of his church family. After graduating from Furman, Bruce joined the United States Air Force and served at Shaw AFB and at Sembach AFB in Germany. After the Korean War ended, he returned to Greenville and joined CRYOVAC in Simpsonville as one of the original employees of that new plant. He enjoyed a 40 year career with CRYOVAC holding various positions and retiring in 1996 at Duncan Headquarters. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with dear family and his granddaughters and great granddaughter.

He is survived by his son, Brent Freeman; granddaughter, Mari Kate Picow (Brandon); granddaughters, Jordan Freeman(Val), Cassidy Freeman, and Carly Freeman; great granddaughter, Lily Picow; daughter-in-law, Susan Freeman(Bob); and sister-in-law, Kaye Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Martin Freeman; three sisters and their husbands, Annie Mae Boone (Henry), Helen Johnston (Johnny), Gail Smith (Gene); and brother, Don Freeman.
