Bruce Hanson Obituary
Born July 28, 1931 to Harold & Florence (Foslien) Hanson of Moe Township, MN.
Bruce met Marilyn “Mim” Johnson of Melby, MN. They married in 1950 and moved to Minneapolis. They raised their 6 children on a hobby farm in Forest Lake, MN.
He worked for Berger Transfer & Storage.
He fell in love with flying and bought Surfside Seaplane Base in 1971. Bruce was inducted into the Minnesota Aviation Hall of Fame in 2006. He eventually retired from Berger, but never from flying.
Mim died June 20, 2007. His strong but quiet faith helped him find Joanne Glendenning. They married January 31, 2010.
Bruce died Saturday, May 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Mark (Barb), Mike (Lady), Nancy (Dan), Cheri (Al), Barbara (John), Paige (Joe); 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister Deanna Deal.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 21 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1 North Rd., Circle Pines, MN 55014. A visitation will be held from 3-8 PM Tuesday, May 20 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Dr., Lino Lakes, MN 55014 and at the church from 10-11 AM Wednesday.
