Bruce W. Heffelfinger

Bruce W. Heffelfinger, 80, passed away on February 13, 2026. Born in Fort Wayne on January 18, 1946, Bruce was the son of the late Joseph and Fern (Goheen) Heffelfinger. He graduated from Northside High School in 1964 and proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy SeaBees with a tour in Vietnam in 1968. HE graduated from Ball State University in 1974 with a B.S. degree.

Bruce spent many years focusing on Eel River Township, served 34 years on the Board of Directors with Northeastern REMC, and worked at various factories, retiring from Autoliv North America in 2007. Upon his retirement, he continued his true passion of farming. He was an avid fan of the NFL and NBA. Bruce enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, and gambling at local casinos. Memberships included Delta Chi National Fraternity, Churubusco Lodge #515 F&AM, American Legion post 157, and VFW post 3846.

Surviving are his wife Carol of 45 years; two daughters, Taylor and Hailey; four grandchildren, Bryce, Natalia, Gabriella and Mackenzie and two step grandchildren, Jaxon and Cooper.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Joan who passed away in 1964.
