Bruce Herbst Obituary
NISKAYUNA - Bruce A. Herbst, 77, of Niskayuna and East Greenbush, passed away tragically, in an ATV accident, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in Coeymans.
Bruce was born August 9, 1947, in Albany, N.Y., the son of the late George J. Herbst and Kathryn (Offensend).
Bruce served in the Navy from 1966-1968, was a Union Carpenter (Local 370) for Crawford Door and Window for 30 years, and then worked at Tremont Lumber with rental equipment. Bruce loved motorcycles, ATVs, fishing, and being outdoors.
He was always willing to help family, friends, and his church. Loved by all, he had a kind, wise, and generous spirit. He made friends easily, engaging them in many conversations. Gone too soon, he will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Sharon Rice Herbst; son, Darrell (Lisa) Herbst; brother, Robert (Mary) Herbst; grandchildren, Hannah, Zachary, and Jonathan; nieces and nephews, Jessie, Jeremy, Bonnie, Jody and Lisa.
He was predeceased by his brother, George D. Herbst; and nephew, Timothy Herbst.
Relatives and friends are invited to his calling hours, Tuesday evening, 4-7 p.m., with funeral ceremony following at 7, at Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bruce's memory may be made to Solid Rock Family Church, Capital City Rescue Mission, or a charity of your choice.

I haven't seen Bruce in quite a few years. Possibly at George's wake. My sincere condolences. He was one of the good guys. I wanted to be at his wake but thought it was Wednesday. I also wanted to reconnect with Bob but can't locate him.

Sharon and family.
We're saddened to here of the passing of your beloved, Bruce. His obituary depicts the love he has for everyone.
We are grateful to have crossed paths in the mid 90's as he spent countless hours assisting us in fitting up our church building in the South End.
You will all be in our prayers.
