Bruce Alan Jacobson, age 67, passed away February 14, 2024 after a long battle with Parkinson’s. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 30 at the Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Bruce was born on April 29, 1956, to Maynard and Edith (Johnson) Jacobson in Albert Lea, MN. The family lived in Rake, IA and moved when Bruce was one year old to Northwood, IA where he grew up and graduated from Northwood-Kensett in 1974. He met the love of his life, Dawn Jacobson, and they were united in marriage on May 12, 1978. The couple raised two daughters, Melissa and Jessica. Bruce worked many years of his career for Cargill.  The family made their home in Albert Lea, where Bruce lived until the time of his death.

Bruce had several hobbies, including playing cards, watching baseball and football games, and bingo. His favorite pastimes included going to the casino with Dawn and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bruce is survived by his daughters, Melissa Hanson (Todd), Jessie Jacobson (Kate); grandchildren, Mikayla Hanson, Kylie Hanson, Braden Hanson; siblings, Merle Jacobson, Laura Mangan (Vince); in-laws, Mike Ehrich (Pat), JoAnn Ehrich, Michelle Ehrich; nieces and nephews, Kim Westcott (Joe), Kerry Jacobson (Jenny), Kay Drinkwitz (Paul), Sandi Mangan (Scott), Matt Mangan (Karen), Jill Ehrich (Colin), Brian Ehrich (Jessica), Kim Ehrich (Dusty), Jeremy Bishop, Christopher Bishop, Jenn Yotter (Blake), Amber Bishop, Jazmin Brue, Jadin Brue; his sweet dog Joey.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Jacobson; parents, Maynard and Edith Jacobson; in-laws, Derald and Therese Ehrich; sister-in-law, Susan Brown; brother-in-law, Edward Brown; sister-in-law Kay Reese.
