In Loving Memory of Our Hero — Our Family’s MacGyver
Our father passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 6th, leaving our family heartbroken and unprepared for the difficult days ahead. To anyone who knew him, he wasn’t just a dad — he was a hero, a helper, and the person you called when something broke, went missing, or needed a little bit of magic to make it right. We always called him MacGyver because he could fix or build anything with his bare hands and that creative spark he carried everywhere.
He lived a life defined by service, compassion, and quiet bravery. In the mountains of New Hampshire, he served as head of a local search and rescue team and volunteered as a firefighter — always the first to jump into action when someone needed help. He never hesitated, never asked for recognition, and never wanted anything in return. If someone was in danger, he was already halfway out the door.
Recently, he moved to a small property in Jasper, Florida to live out his dream of having a little farm — a place where he could work the land, build things with purpose, and enjoy the simple, peaceful life he always imagined for himself.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jodi, and his loving children, Simon and Melia, who were the very center of his world. He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Cook of Palm Beach, Florida, and Kara Sportelli of London, England, who hold their own memories of him and remain part of his story.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mason and Elsa, whom he dearly loved and now rejoins in peace.
No Services will be held at this time.
