Bruce Edward Lindsey, age 84, of Haywood County passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026. A beloved husband, papaw, and great papaw, he was born and raised in Haywood County. He was the son of the late Marcella Hill and Marcus Lindsey. He was also proceeded in death by his granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Jenkins and sisters, Joyce Hannah and Carolyn Wyatt.
Bruce loved playing with his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved watching Nascar on Sundays and watching hummingbirds from the window. He was the best papaw. He loved his little dog Little Bit.
He worked at the papermill where he retired after 40 years.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Mary McKeen Lindsey; his son, Eddie Lindsey; and his daughter, Kimberly Jenkins. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Dale Jenkins and Jamie (Keelan) Bryant, along with eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews that he adored.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clyde, NC. Matthew McKeen will be officiating.
