The son of the late Duncan and Wilhelmina McMurtrie, Bruce was a devoted husband to his late wife, Joan McMurtrie. Together, they built a family founded on strong values and unwavering support. Bruce was a loving father to Valerie, Doug, the late Vicki Thomas with son-in-law Glenn Thomas, and Duncan McMurtrie. He instilled in them the virtues of gratitude and joy for life's simple pleasures. His legacy continued to flourish through his grandchildren, Heather, Kevin (Faith), Jason (Adria), Kelly (Robert), Christie, Shannon (Andrew), and his great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mason, Micah, Henry, Jane, Patrick, Kegan, Adam, Kristopher, Faith, and Skylar. Bruce also had the joy of becoming a great-great-grandfather to Yasmine, a role he embraced with the same warmth and affection that had always been his hallmark. He was also a loving uncle to Doreen McMurtrie and Russ (Sue) Kiehl.
Professionally, Bruce dedicated many years of his life to Ford Automotive as a Tool and Die Maker. His meticulous departmental coordination and innovative spirit contributed to the company's success and earned him the respect of his colleagues. Bruce's involvement with the Elks Club allowed him to extend his passion for camaraderie, as he regularly engaged in card games and social events that further solidified his role as a friend to all.
Bruce's zest for life was evident in his hobbies. He found solace and happiness in doing yard work, taking pride in his ability to nurture and cultivate the beauty of nature around his home.
