Bruce Wayne Nelson, 72, of Bluefield, VA passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025 at WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital. Born November 11, 1953 in Waseca, Minnesota, he was a son of the late Vernon and Evelyn Joeks Nelson. Bruce worked at EF Johnson Company in Waseca for 28 years before moving to Virginia. Bruce had been a resident of Bluefield, VA for 27 years and was a warehouse employee of Janpak, Inc. for 26 years before retiring. Bruce loved riding his Harley, including going on the Back of the Dragon ride several times. He also loved playing golf in his younger days. Bruce enjoyed sitting on the back porch looking at the beautiful scenery of East River Mountain. He would often sit and watch the squirrels and chipmunks running around in the yard, and the birds in the feeders. Bruce and Vicky would also sit on the porch together listening to Classic Rock music including his favorite, Pink Floyd. When the leaves on the mountain began turning yellow and orange, Bruce loved watching football and cheering on his favorite team, the Vikings.
Those left to cherish Bruce's memory are his loving wife Vicky Chadderdon Nelson of the home; step-daughters, Jenna Turley (AJ) of Springville, VA and Jessica Musel of New Richland, Minnesota; brothers, Rick Nelson (Lois), Dwaine Nelson, and Brian Nelson (Deb), and sister, Barb Tetzloff all of Minnesota; 5 step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and two Yorkies, Sofie and Kinzee.
In keeping with Bruce's family wishes, he will be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life ceremony to follow in Minnesota with family and friends.
